We are very excited to announce a new specialty coffee that has just arrived in our warehouse! The Costa Rica Tarrazú La Pastora is a "fancy" arabica coffee grown at the base of three volcanoes in Costa Rica. If you look at the map below, the area where the coffee is grown is marked with a star. The coffee is grown by a local cooperative and combines the best crops from each of the eight farms in the cooperative.
Here at 416 Coffee Co., we are committed to ensuring that the farmers that grow these wonderful coffees are paid fairly. That's why we chose to work with the CoopeTarrazú. The cooperative was created to ensure that coffee can be a sustainable crop in Costa Rica and to ensure that farmers are paid fairly for their excellent bean produce.
The coffee is grown 1800 meters above sea level and harvested every year between December and March. The green beans are wet processed giving the coffee its distinctive round body. Expect syrupy floral notes as you inhale the wonderful aromas that this coffee gives off. We enjoyed bright citrus flavours followed by more subtle dark chocolate notes on the mid palette with virtually no after taste.
We'll have the coffee for a limited time so be sure to try this delectable coffee while supplies last. You will not be disappointed!
